Bio:
Styliani Petroudi received her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor , in 1998, funded by Fulbright (CASP). She continued her studies at the University of Michigan where she also he received her M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Signals and Systems in 2000.
Styliani left Ann Arbor in 2001 to continue her Ph.D. studies at the University of Oxford, funded by a grant from CR-UK, under the supervision of Professor Sir Michael Brady. She received the D. Phil. Degree from the University of Oxford, in 2005. From 2005 to 2007 she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Wolfson Medical Vision Lab, Department of Engineering, Oxford University working closely with researchers from CR-UK and NCRI on oncological imaging related issues. Styliani continues to be an active member of Wolfson College.
Since 2007 she is a visiting lecturer at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Cyprus. Her research interests lie in the areas of signal and image processing, medical image analysis with applications in oncological imaging, computer assisted minimally invasive surgery and artificial intelligence for the advancement of detection and diagnosis schemes that improve clinical outcomes.
