Abstract:
Ischemic Heart Diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. Myocardial infarction(Heart attack) is a common presentation of Ischemic Heart Diseases. The classical symptom of a heart attack is sudden chest pain(typically radiating to the left arm or left side of the neck). However, chest pain can also be caused by many other conditions such as anxiety, muscle strain etc...Therefore people who experience chest pain are usually in a dilemma and tend to delay the decision to seek immediate help waiting for the condition to pass by itself or get worse. This delay is critical in case of a heart attack.Experts believe that 85% of deaths caused by heart attacks could be prevented by sufficient early diagnosis.
Cardicell has identified the following need- A device that will enable the user to identify a chest pain as a sign of heart attack. The presentation depicts cardicell's efforts to date to develop the aforementioned device and bring it to the personal cardiac telemedicine market while facing the challenges of today's competitive environment.
