Aero systems continuously increase in complexity, while security, safety and certification requirements impose strong controls on the design and verification/validation of these systems. The Product Lifecycle of an aero system is composed of several processes that include hundreds of tools and thousands of artifacts (data, software, models). The lack of interconnection and traceability of these artifacts is a major factor for delays and/or cost run-overs; tackling the problem of digital discontinuity is a major issue in the industry. Moreover, data-driven analyses are increasingly used during the design process and they call for this discontinuity to be further addressed. In this talk we see how to leverage knowledge engineering methods and technologies for addressing these problems.
Christos Sofronis has a Bachelor and a master degree on Computer Science from University of Crete and University Joseph Fourier (Grenoble-1) respectively. He holds a Ph.D. from University Joseph Fourier on advanced MBD methods with title "Embedded Code Generation from High-level Heterogeneous Components". Since 2016 he is the leader of the Software and Data Technologies Group in UTRC CPS Department (located in UTRC Italy). His interests are around software and data technologies and processes in support to aero applications product lifecycle management; in particular, devops and agile methods, application of MDE and knowledge engineering for MBSE.
